How to Animate Your Google+ Profile

The Google+ profile page design allows for five “Scrapbook” images to be displayed at the top of your page.

If you create and size GIFs just so, it’s super-simple to create your own basic animation.

1. Organize and Resize Your Images

Using our method, you’ll need a minimum of 10 images.

To keep things simple, we used abstract crops, but the sky is the limit as far as creative potential for this hack, so have fun!

It’s essential your images are 150 pixels by 150 pixels. If they aren’t, they won’t animate.

Resize your images and save them down.

2. Head to the Online GIF Maker

Now you’re ready to make GIFs! We found an excellent online tool —
Picasion — that works fast and is free.

3. Make GIFs

Select “choose file” on the Picasion service and upload your images.

Now, it’s essential that you click on the “size” drop down menu and select “advanced.” Enter “150″ in the box and hit the “create animation” button.

We left the speed at the default “normal” setting, but you can also play around with this option.

4. Save and Repeat

Next, save your GIFs down to your computer by hitting the “save this animation” option.

Click “upload more” to repeat the process until you have your five GIFs ready to go.

5. Edit Your Google+ Profile

Now go to your Google+ profile page. Click “Edit Profile” at the top right.

Once you’re in edit mode, click in the area directly below your name.

This will give you the option to add photos in to your “Scrapbook.”

6. Add Images to Your Scrapbook

Add your five GIFs by uploading them from your computer.

Hit “OK.”

7. Finish Editing

Now click “Finished editing.”

8. Check Your Creation

You might not see the animation straight away when you’re viewing your own profile.

To check your creation you need to view your profile as the public sees it.

To do this click “View profile as” to the bottom right of your GIFs and choose “Public.”
